Amber's Partner Intro

Amber is very interested in the culture and storytelling tradition of Ireland. All of her comments have to do with the stories that abound in Irish culture. She has the story to go with her picture of Blarney Castle, complete with quotes from Queen Elizabeth I. Her writing sample was taken from Henry Glassie’s wonderful book of Irish folk tales, again emphasizing her connection to the storytelling tradition in Irish culture. Amber is in the process of applying to graduate school. She is a writer who believes that her words have the power to affect people in a positive way. She appreciates the idea of generations spending time together to share a common folklore, which is used not only as an aural history, but also as a teaching tool. Amber seems to be open to different sources for her writing, including the folklore of different cultures. Amber wants to learn more about the folklore and culture of Ireland through the storytelling, that’s her “in” to the culture.
