Robin and Ashley
Robin chose a photograph of a famous horse racing track in Ireland. She seems interested in sporting events involving horses and the importance of horses in the Irish racing culture. The track and horses are very beautiful. Robin is a Range Management major and the poem Robin chose to share reveals her passion for earth and the natural beauty of landscapes and wildlife. She is particularly interested in the rural life and culture of Ireland. She enjoyed the Lord of the Dance and is intrigued by Irish dance and music as well. Robin seems to want to learn more about her Irish family history and about what day to day life is like in Ireland.
Ashley writes in a very lyrical manner and describes two contrasting scenes colliding in her Irish coastline photograph. The Irish drinking song Ashley chose to share tells a story. It sounds like she might have more than a few stories to share herself about her trip to Ireland. She has been personally touched by the hospitality and culture of the Irish people. Her experiences in a Dublin pub left her with a fond memory of the song Wild Rover and she is deeply moved by the beauty of the Irish landscape. She is curious about her Irish heritage and interested in learning more about the aesthetic components of culture and life in Ireland.
